Gigabit broadband reaches about 99% of homes around Wollaton and Aspley but about 28% in some Newark and Sherwood villages. Here is how Nottinghamshire compares and how to check a specific address.

If you work from home, broadband is not a nice extra, it is the job. Coverage across Nottinghamshire varies a lot more than people expect, and the difference often runs along the line between town and village.

Reading the figures

  • Ofcom publishes this by postcode district, so villages in the same district show the same figure, and a single street can be better or worse than the average.
  • The data is from July 2025. Networks are still being built, so coverage may have improved since.
  • Mobile coverage is published by council area. 4G from all four networks reaches between 95% and 100% of each Nottinghamshire council area, so signal is rarely the deciding factor at that scale.

Before you commit to a house, put the exact address into Ofcom's broadband and mobile checker. It shows what is available at that property today.
